Who we are

The festival is organized by a group of friends from Nafarroa and Araba, from the Folkirrika association. Its aim is to provide a space to create unique moments of music, dance and learning for three days. A festival to have fun dancing and/or playing music! After the successful first edition in Iturmendi (Nafarroa), we are excited to be working on this second edition with a larger capacity, an attractive programme and a lot of novelties, in the exceptional location of Kuartango Lab.

A short video to get to know this edition’s space:

But… what is Balfolk? Since we are in summer, let’s think about… a salad! A huge bowl full of dances, collective and in pairs, and whoever says dances means music, meeting, fun, creativity, expression, introspection, learning, connection… all organic ingredients that have traveled throughout Europe without a carbon footprint for centuries… and like a proper salad, each one seasons it as they like best, in the traditional way of their village, or with a swing touch, an exotic sauce, a jazz dressing or in an experimental way… a whole world to discover!
